Toddlers: ages 2-3

  • Tend to have a lot of energy

  • Have big emotions

  • Still learning about boundaries

  • Still developing physical and language skills

  • Enjoy music with movement and picture books

  • Exploratory

  • Can experience separation anxiety from caregiver

  • Classes can include caregiver

Class duration: 20 minutes

Class structure: Settling in, movement, book/song activity, calm time.

Example of class content: Mindful movement activities, guided calm time, reading stories about emotions, affirmations, sensory games, calm time.

Pre-school: ages: 3-6

  • Gross motor skills are more refined

  • Enjoy lots of movement

  • Enjoy games and stories

  • Enjoy music with movement

  • Still learning to move through big emotions

  • Developing self control, patience and independence

  • Can concentrate a bit better

Class duration: 30 minutes

Class structure: Settling in, affirmations, movement, book/song activity, calm time.

Example of class content: Movement as a story, movement as a song, picture books they can touch, guided calm time including 5 senses, fun stories about emotions, repeating affirmations.

  • Ability to focus and concentrate better

Class duration: 30 minutes

Class structure: Settling in, breathing exercise, affirmations, movement, game activity, calm time.

Example of class content: Mindful movement, breath awareness, game activity, quiet and still time, feeling their feelings and body sensations, affirmations, group reflection activities, art and colouring in.

Example of class content: Mindful movement, breath awareness, guided still time, moments to reflect, role play of how to use mindfulness in life, a safe space to share, affirmation and validation- listening skills, identify emotional landscape and boundaries, arts and crafts.

  • Can have big emotions and opinions

Class duration: 1 hour

Class structure: Settling in, breathing exercise, affirmations, movement, sharing circle/reflection, calm time.

Example of class content: Mindful movement, breath awareness, guided still time, moments to reflect, role play of how to use mindfulness in life, a safe space to share, affirmation and validation- listening skills, identify emotional landscape and boundaries, arts and crafts, lead movement activities.
